Nathan joined Cambridge Capital Management in 2008 after time spent as a Municipal Bond Specialist in Chicago, and later as a Financial Advisor in St. Louis. Making the switch afforded Nathan the opportunity to form closer financial relationships with his clients.
"We are usually involved in all aspects of our clients' financial lives." As a Certified Financial Planner™ at Cambridge Capital Management, Nathan has become an integral member of the financial services team. His dedication to his clients, hard work and client first attitude have helped him to become first a Principal, then a Partner, and now CEO of the firm. Under his direction, the firm has grown significantly.
"The most rewarding part of my job" says Nathan, “is being able to build such strong relationships with our wonderful clients. I consider it an honor to wake up every day and truly love what I do and the people I do it for."
Nathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, and is a Certified Financial Planner™. He is a board member of the O'Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce and is also active with both the SIUC Alumni Association and the Financial Planning Association.
Nathan, his wife Annie, and daughters Adelynn, Sophia, and Violet currently reside in Shiloh, Illinois with their Labrador Retriever Marlee. In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing golf, following University of Illinois athletics, and traveling with his family.
Matthew Hawk has served as a Financial Advisor since 2008. Previously, he spent 6 years working as a Staff Accountant. "I knew I wanted to become a Wealth Advisor at some point in my career. In 2008, when I saw how people were struggling, I felt now is the time when people need a well thought out financial plan the most."
Matt is a Certified Financial Planner™ and Registered Investment Adviser Representative with Cambridge Capital Management.
"Being able to serve others on a daily basis is a dream come true" says Matt. "My goal has always been to give our clients a level of service that exceeds their expectations. I feel taking the time to listen to our clients' personal goals and needs and understanding their vision as a whole, really helps us customize a plan specific to their life. I feel the depth of this process and the customization of each of our plans, has meant a lot to our clients."
Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Utah. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. He is a member of the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce and coaches youth sports in the Edwardsville, IL area.
Matt, his wife Camille, and their three children reside in Edwardsville, IL. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, photography and oil painting. He also loves playing sports and taking family road trips around the country.
In August 2016, Sam joined the Cambridge Capital Management team, coming to us as a graduate from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.
Sam’s role is to enhance the overall client experience by engaging in proactive contact and communication. He also assists with client scheduling, meeting preparation and presentations, new business development and marketing.

Sam graduated from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance and again in 2017 with an MBA. He has lived in O’Fallon for over 15 years and likes to spend his free time at Busch Stadium or the nearest golf course.
Kenneth R. Diel, CPA, CVA, PFS
Founding Partner
Ken is the founding partner of Cambridge Capital Management, LLC having started the firm in 1999. In addition to his role at Cambridge, Ken is also the managing member of the accounting firm, Diel & Forguson, LLC, which he started in 1979. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Valuation Analyst, and a Personal Financial Specialist. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.
Ken is very involved in the community and has served on the Board of Directors of the O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of O’Fallon, United Way, Home Builders Association of Greater Southwest Illinois, Southwestern Illinois College Foundation, Friends of Scott (Air Force Base), YMCA of Southwest Illinois, Boy Scouts of America, and the O’Fallon Township High School Foundation. Golf, photography, woodworking and stained glass are a few of his many interests. He and his wife have two married children and two grandchildren. They reside in O’Fallon, Illinois..
A member of Cambridge Capital Management's operation support staff, Jen works with our financial planners and clients helping manage client relations and new business services. She also assists with office technology, maintenance of client records, and scheduling within the firm.
"One of my favorite aspects about my role at the firm is that our clients know they can call me for anything they need. They know I'll make sure they are taken care of promptly."
Jen graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She resides with her husband, Jeff, and their three children in Millstadt. When she's not busy being a mother to twins and their older sister, Jen enjoys volunteering in her children's school.
